Paleolithic Britain (Old Stone Age)
Paleolithic Britain was the period of around 10,000 years of the last 2 million years and has been inhabited for hundreds of thousands of years. This leaves us with a quick rundown of early human development from the species of ape through Homo erectus and Neanderthals to near human animals known as Homo sapiens. There is no DNA confirmation of any such theory proved by scientists to date.
Since that time 10,000 years ago right up to present day there have been many changes in Britain's environment and humans could never settle due to glacial and interglacial threats. The last glaciations of the British Isles was reported 400,000 years ago almost washing away the evidence of Paleolithic Britain hominids.
Archaeological findings are the only resources left to identify such human migrations or invasions during the Paleolithic Britain. Inhabitants during those times were sort of hunters or food gatherers following herds of animals in search for meat/food which was the only source and they explored the whole of northern Europe. They made houses, boats, or snow-houses depending upon where they were located and painted and sculpted them and used food preservation techniques like freezing, drying or locking them up.
Being in the Stone Age, they used tools built of stone, stone artefacts, wood, clay, animal bones etc.
As weapons they used bows and arrows, knives, axes, hammers, needles, harpoons, spears, blowguns etc. Religion practiced during that time was apotropiac involving sympathetic magic and Hunting was the only art form that seemed to take high levels after Paleolithic period (35000 BCE).
Paleolithic means OLD (Paleo) Stone (Lithic): The Old Stone Age Britain.
